PROGRAMME: Announced 17 October 2006 at the NBAA Convention in Orlando. FAA certification and first customer deliveries scheduled for mid-2010.

Description for Spectrum S-33 Independence applies generally to the SA-40 Freedom except as follows.

POWER PLANT: Two GE Honda HF120 turbofans, with FADEC, each rated at 9,12 kN (2,050 lb st).

ACCOMMODATION: Single pilot and up to nine passengers. Typical cabin layout for seven passengers features single forward-facing seat on port side immediately aft of entrance door, with club pair opposite, and club-four to rear, with full-enclosed aft lavatory. Alternative layouts include food/drinks cabinet and two-seat sideways-facing divan on starboard side opposite door, with ‘club four’ to rear. Six cabin windows per side.

AVIONICS: EFIS cockpit with sidestick controllers and keyboard avionics interface.
