TYPE: Two-seat lightplane.

PROGRAMME: Developed as simplified, cheaper version of Husky for daytime VFR only. Prototype (N180HY) first flown 7 March 2002; public debut at EAA Sun 'n' Fun at Lakeland, Florida, in April 2002. Certification achieved 18 August 2003, at which time a small batch of completed aircraft was being held at the factory for immediate issue to buyers.

COSTS: US$115,000 VFR (2003).


FLYING CONTROLS: Generally as Husky, but with flaps deleted and modified engine cowling.


LANDING GEAR: Non-retractable tailwheel type; mainwheel size 6.00-6 (4-ply), optionally 8.00-6 (4- or 6-ply). Cleveland wheels and brakes.

POWER PLANT: One 119.3 kW (160 hp) Textron Lycoming O-320-D2A flat-four, driving a Sensenich 74DM6S8-0-58 two-blade, fixed-pitch, metal propeller. Fuel as for Husky.

ACCOMMODATION: Two in tandem. Optional rear compartment, as Husky.

AVIONICS: VFR panel standard.
Comms: Becker com, GTX 320 transponder, PM 10000 II intercom.
Flight: Garmin GPS III.
Instrumentation: ASI, altimeter, compass, digital tachometer, oil pressure/temperature gauge, EGT/CHT gauge and ammeter all standard.

EQUIPMENT: Two-colour paint scheme and polished wheel hub caps standard.
