Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company (LM Aero) includes the following operating units:
- Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company - Marietta
- Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company - Palmdale
- Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company - Fort Worth
Before merger that culminated in creation of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Sector (subsequently renamed Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems Division and, since January 2000, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company), Lockheed aircarft manufacturing activity consolidated at Marietta, Georgia in 1991. Sales in 2001 were valued at approximately US$5.355 billion, rising in 2002 to US$6.5 billion. In June 2002, workforce numbered about 24,500.
Teaming arrangement agreed with Northrop Grumman to collaboreate in development and marketing of AEW aircraft; also with KAI of South Korea to develop and co-produce the T/A-50 Golden Eagle advanced trainer/light combat aircraft, in which it has 13 per cent share of programme investment and responsibility for about 20 per cent of production work.
On 31 October 2001, Lockheed Martin and AgustaWestland announced a joint venture promoting the EHI EH101 helicopter for US military and coast guard requirements under the new designation, US101.
