AEROSTAR AIRCRAFT CORPORATION LLC

Aerostar Aircraft Corporation was formed in 1991 by former Ted Smith employees and acquired the rights to the Aerostar series of pressurised piston-engined twins from Piper in the same year. It offers upgrades, spares support and second-hand sales, and is planning to extend its 2,975 m² (32,000 sq ft) factory to 10,400 m² (112,000 sq ft) to accommodate production of a jet version.
A new company, Aerostar Jet LLC, was planned for launch in 2003 for the development of the FJ-100; however this was contingent upon receipt of US$50 million to fund development, certification and production and no confirmation had been received by November 2003.
