TYPE: Regional jet airliner.

PROGRAMME: In late 2002, a project by the Myasishchev Design Bureau was revealed to be competing against the Tupolev Tu-414 and Sukhoi RRJ for official acceptance as Russia's next-generation regional jet. Designation M-70-70 is believed to indicate 70 seats. However, the Sukhoi design was eventually chosen.
