Alpha established December 2003 to build Robin R 2120/2160 Alpha primary trainer in 14,000 m² (150,700 sq ft) new plant, employing up to 50 workers, at Hamilton. On 25 June 2004 announced imminent conclusion to purchase of rights, jigs and tools from Apex Aviation in France, anticipating first deliveries in 2005 and production build-up to 100 per year. Transfer of rights effected 8 October 2004 and production jigs and tools arrived in New Zealand in January 2005. Intended completion of first aircraft in April 2005 postponed, manufacture taking place in temporary premises at Ingram Road following rejection of planning application for new site at Middle Road. Izard Pacific Aviation is shareholder, with HA Investments, Hammersmith Holdings and Hansen Aviation Services.
