TYPE: Primary prop trainer/sportplane; four-seat lightplane.

PROGRAMME: Design (by Dott Ing Stelio Frati) started in 2000; manufacture of mockup, and wind tunnel testing, under way mid-2001; production scheduled to begin at end of 2002 but now postponed until after 2004, when kit versions will be offered. Certification of all three variants to JAR/FAR Pt 23 IFR requirements will follow sometime thereafter.

CURRENT VERSIONS: D-130: Primary trainer.
D-200: Aerobatic trainer.
F.300: Tourer and business aircraft.
F.300 Sport: Aerobatic trainer and tourer; bubble canopy.

DESIGN FEATURES: Typical Stelio Frati design with low wing of tapered planform, and swept fin with long dorsal fillet.

FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and manual; cable actuated. Horn-balanced elevators and rudder; trim tabs on each aileron and elevator; tab on rudder.

STRUCTURE: All composites; mostly carbon fibre, Kevlar and epoxy resin.

LANDING GEAR: Retractable tricycle type; main units retract inwards, nosewheel rearwards.

POWER PLANT: D-130: One 93.2 kW (125 hp) Teledyne Continental IO-240 flat-four driving a two-blade fixed-pitch propeller.
D-200: One 149 kW (200 hp) Textron Lycoming IO-360 flat-four driving a three-blade constant-speed propeller.
F.300 and F.300 Sport: One 224 KW (300 hp) Textron Lycoming IO-540 flat-six and three-blade constant-speed propeller.

ACCOMMODATION: D-130, D-200 and F.300 Sport: two persons, side by side; F.300, four persons. F.300 has conventional cabin accessed via doors, F.300 Sport has single-piece rearward-sliding canopy with fixed windscreen. Control sticks standard. Baggage compartment at rear of cabin on F.300, with external baggage door on port side aft of wing.
