TYPE: Side-by-side ultralight.

PROGRAMME: Promotion began in 2004. Production subcontracted to Officine Meccaniche Mingarelli at Ceccano.

CURRENT VERSIONS: DF 2000 Base: Baseline version with Rotax 912 UL engine.
DF 2000 Plus: Rotax 912 ULS engine.
DF 2000 Top: De luxe version, including three-blade propeller, cockpit heater, landing lights and radio as standard.

CUSTOMERS: First production batch of five built from 2004. Early operators include flying school, Aviosuperficie La Selva.

COSTS: DF 2000 EUR33,000; DF 2000 Plus EUR40,000; DF 2000 Top EUR44,000 (all excluding tax, 2004).

DESIGN FEATURES: Objectives included short take-off, high-speed and economic cruising, comfort, aesthetic appearance, robustness and low price. High, constant-chord wing with upturned tips and single bracing strut each side. Low tailplane; sweptback fin with small fillet.

FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and manual. Electrically actuated flaps.

STRUCTURE: Generally of 2017T4 and 2024T3 aluminium, with chromoly 4139 steel tube reinforcement of cockpit. Composites wingtips.

LANDING GEAR: Tricycle type; fixed. Fuselage-mounted spring cantilever mainwheel legs with optional wheel fairings; steerable nosewheel.

POWER PLANT: One 73.5 kW (98.6 hp) Rotax 912 ULS liquid-cooled flat-four driving a wooden two-blade or composites three-blade propeller. Optionally, one 59.6 kW (79.9 hp) Rotax 912 UL and two-blade wooden propeller. Two wing fuel tanks, combined usable capacity 70 litres (18.5 US gallons; 15.4 Imp gallons); optional additional central tank of 17 litres (4.5 US gallons; 3.7 Imp gallons).
