PARNALL

Woodworking firm Parnall & Sons, Mivart St, Bristol, obtained contracts for 50 Avro 504B, 200 504J, 250 504K, 130 Fairey Hamble Babies and 20 Short 827s. Built prototypes of Parnall Scout and Puffin. In 1917 Harold Bolas, released by Admiralty, joined as chief designer and produced Panther carrier-based recon biplane. Firm sold to W. & T. Avery who refused Panther production contract (cut at Armistice from 300 to 150) and firm made no more aircraft. See also George Parnall & Co. Ltd.
