Flt. Lt. Nicholas Comper, previously designer of Cranwell CLA series, left RAF March 1929 and formed Comper Aircraft Co. at Hooton Park, Cheshire, to build CLA.7 Swift, derived from CLA.3, sporting single-seater, 41 built. Mouse, Streak and Kite 1933-4 remained prototypes. Became Heston Aircraft 1934.
