The all-wooden MJ-52 Zéphyr is a very light two-seat monoplane, based on the MJ-5 Sirocco but using a converted Volkswagen motorcar engine or Teledyne Continental engine in the 30-48.5 kW (40-65 hp) range. It can have a non-retractable or retractable landing gear.
Plans of the MJ-52 have been available since Spring 1985, and a prototype is under construction. It has been designed to conform to FAR Pt 23 Utility category requirements, yet to be simple to construct in a garage or similar building and inexpensive in terms of materials and working hours.
