TYPE: Two-seat lightplane; side-by-side ultralight.

PROGRAMME: Original CT version certified in Germany on 6 June 1997, having flown some 1,000 hours. CT and kitbuilt CTX version now discontinued.

CURRENT VERSIONS: CT2K: Standard version, as described. Lighter airframe; downturned wingtips.
CTU: Longer span version to achieve 38 kg/m² (7.78 lb/sq ft) wing loading required in some countries; extra 1.00 m (3 ft 3¼ in) span and 1.20 m² (12.9 sq ft) increase in area; available to order only.

CUSTOMERS: More than 250 of all versions built by September 2002, when production was running at six per month.

COSTS: Complete, with Rotax UL-2, propeller and Junkers ballistic recovery system €53,987 excluding tax (2003). Kits no longer available.

DESIGN FEATURES: Optimised for safe handling, speed and range. High-mounted, cantilever, constant chord wing, sharply waisted fuselage and sweptback fin with large underfin. CT2K features new trim tab and optional downturned wingtips.
Wing dihedral 1° 40'.

FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional ailerons and horn-balanced rudder, manually actuated; all-moving tailplane with anti-balance tab. Electrically actuated plain flaps, deflection -12° and +40°; internal (external on early aircraft) mass balances for ailerons and tailplane.

STRUCTURE: Principally of composites, including carbon/glass fibre and carbon/aramid sandwich construction.

LANDING GEAR: Fixed tricycle type with swept forward aluminium tube main and nose legs and steerable nosewheel. Optional speed fairings. Hydraulic mainwheel brakes.

POWER PLANT: One 59.6 kW (79.9 hp) Rotax 912 UL-2 or 73.5 kW (98.6 hp) Rotax 912 ULS flat-four, driving a Neuform two-blade C2-V variable-pitch or C2 fixed-pitch propeller. Fuel in two wing leading-edge tanks, combined capacity 130 litres (34.3 US gallons; 28.6 Imp gallons).

ACCOMMODATION: Two persons, side by side; dual controls; upward-hinged door with gas spring for each occupant. Baggage space behind seats, with external door on each side.

AVIONICS: Optional avionics include Becker Radio AR 4201 com, Honeywell KY97A com, KX 125 nav/com, KT 76A Mode A/C transponder, Garmin GNC 300 XL nav/com/GPS with Jeppesen database, Garmin Pilot III GPS, Flightcom headsets and ELT.
Instrumentation: Winter variometer and Rotax FlyDat engine management system optional.

EQUIPMENT: Optional equipment includes cabin comfort pack; anti-collision and position lights; and Junkers High Speed or BRS UL 1050 ballistic parachute recovery systems.
