Brandenburgische Flugzeugwerke was acquired by Austrian millionaire Camilio Castiglioni May 1914, who confirmed Ernst Heinkel chief designer and changed name July 1914 to Hansa und Brandenburgische Flugzeugwerke GmbH. First production type was D 2-seat biplane (18 August 1914), followed by FD, then FB armed flying-boat, C.I reconnaissance aircraft (also made by Phönix and Ufag in Austria), GW and GDW torpedo bomber seaplanes, CC fighter flying-boat (like several other H-B biplanes, with distinctive 'star' of multiple V-struts meeting at central point) and improved W.18 and 19, KD fighter and KDW fighter seaplane (with variants by Phönix), W/NW/GNW patrol seaplanes, W.12 fighter seaplane, W.13 and 20 patrol flying-boats, and outstanding W.29 and 33 2-seat fighter monoplane seaplanes. Company closed 1919 but W.29 continued in production in Denmark and W.33 in Finland and Norway.
