Gothaer Waggonfabrik AG was founded 1914, with factory and school at Gotha and seaplane school at Warnemünde, where several types of seaplane built 1914-16. Main factory concentrated on twin-engine biplane bombers, G.I-G.X (G.VI having 1 engine in nacelle on right and 1 on nose of offset fuselage); G.IV and G.V built in substantial numbers and bombed on all fronts, especially including London and south-east England. Oskar Ursinus designed a different G.I, built in small numbers 1916, and UWD twin-float version. Company closed 1919.
