PROGRAMME: Prototype (OK-IUG 10) flying by 2003. Name derived from a breed of sturdy, Alaskan dog.
COSTS: EUR90,000, plus tax, excluding instruments (2005).
DESIGN FEATURES: Constant-chord, high-mounted wings braced to lower longerons by streamlined V struts; rounded fin. Deep fuselage. Tailplane braced to lower longerons by V struts and to fin by wires.
FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and manual. Horn-balanced elevators and plain rudder with flight-adjustable tab to port. Cable-actuated, three-stage Fowler flaps. Ailerons and elevators actuated by pushrods; rudder by cables.
STRUCTURE: Welded steel tube cockpit cage and riveted rear fuselage with fabric skin. Wing fabric-covered.
LANDING GEAR: Tailwheel type; fixed; two faired-in side Vs hinged to lower longerons, plus half-axles sprung on centreline with bungee cord. Hydraulic brakes. Mainwheels 9.00-6 (4 ply); solid, steerable tailwheel.
POWER PLANT: One 59.6 kW (79.9 hp) Rotax 912 UL flat-four driving a Woodcomp two-blade wooden propeller. Optionally 73.5 kW (98.6 hp) Rotax 912 ULS or 59.7 kW (80 hp) Jabiru 2200. Fuel in two wing tanks, combined capacity 80 litres (21.1 US gallons; 17.6 Imp gallons).
EQUIPMENT: Optional GRS 450 ballistic recovery parachute.
