WOLFSBERG LETOV

WOLFSBERG LETECKÁ TOVARNA s.r.o. (Subsidiary of Wolfsberg Aircraft Corporation NV)

Company in process of formation from part of former Letov, established in 1918 and privatised in mid-1990s as separate divisions, including Letov Letecká Výroba, Letov Simulator, Letov Nastrojana and Letov Air. Following 1998 bankruptcy of Letov group, Letov Letecká Výroba (Letov Aircraft Production) was sold by administrator on 1 June 2000 to Latécoère of France and continued with manufacture of aerostructures, while Letov Air became a wholly owned subsidiary of Wolfsberg Aircraft Corporation of Belgium as (initially) Letecká Tovarna ('Aircraft Factory', abbreviated to Letov), having discontinued production of ultralight aircraft (LK-2, LK-3 and ST-4).
On 21 November 2000, it was announced that Letecká Tovarna had been assigned design and production responsibility for the Wolfsberg Raven 257 cargo aircraft, taking over from Evektor-Aerotechnik, another Czech firm. Marketing and financing is the responsibility of the Belgian company. Following a major reorganisation of management in 2003, the company began restructuring, with the name of Wolfsberg taking precedence.
