PROGRAMME: MXP-740/750 series evolved into MXP-800 Fantasy, which further developed as Tayrona.
CUSTOMERS: Initial European sales in France and Italy, beginning 2005.
DESIGN FEATURES: High, constant-chord wing braced by streamlined V struts and auxiliary struts each side. Sweptback fin and low-set, sweptback tailplane. Cockpit cut away at rear. Leading-edge slats omitted to increase cruising speed.
FLYING CONTROLS: Conventional and manual. Flaps. Flaperons on prototype and first three production aircraft only.
STRUCTURE: Generally of 6061T6 aluminium alloy, with 4130 steel cage protecting cockpit.
LANDING GEAR: Tricycle type; fixed. Fuselage-mounted, cantilever spring mainwheel legs and steerable nosewheel.
POWER PLANT: One Rotax liquid-cooled flat-four; 58.8 kW (78.9 hp) 912 UL; 73.5 kW (98.6 hp) 912 ULS; or 84.6 kW (113.4 hp) 912 ULS Turbo. Total fuel capacity 92 litres (24.3 US gallons; 20.2 Imp gallons).
