The prototype Cherry made its first flight on 24 April 1982. Plans (written in German) are available, and 140 sets had been sold by early 1991. The canopy and main spar are available in prefabricated form.

TYPE: Two-seat homebuilt.

AIRFRAME: Wings and tail unit have wood spars and Styrofoam skins covered with glassfibre. Wing section NACA 747A15. Ailerons and flaps of foam and glassfibre construction. Optional folding wings and all-moving tailplane. Wood fuselage structure, plywood and glassfibre covered. Retractable tricycle landing gear, with brakes.

POWER PLANT: One 48.5 kW (65 hp) Teledyne Continental A65. Alternative engines include Limbach L 2400, Teledyne Continental A75 or C90-8F, or Rotax 912. Fuel capacity 84 litres (22.2 US gallons; 18.5 Imp gallons).
