VIKING AIR LTD
Formed in 1970 to undertake fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft parts fabrication, overhaul, modification and repair, including DHC-2 Beaver and DHC-6 Twin Otter. Plant covers 13,935 m² (150,000 sq ft). On 22 February 2006, Viking announced it had acquired Type Certificates for seven out-of-production de Havilland Canada aircraft (DHC-1 to DHC-7) from Bombardier Aerospace on 31 January 2006. It then began assessing market interest in relaunched manufacture of Twin Otters, its spare parts support activities for this aircraft meaning that 35 per cent of the airframe remained in production at that time.
