The simplified, easy-to-read instrument panel of the pilot's compartment in the Consolidated-Vultee XB-36 bomber, is shown with B.A. Erickson and Gus Green, Convair pilots at the controls. The production-model flight deck arrangement. Front compartment of the flight deck has an "upstairs" and a "downstairs," with pilot, copilot, and flight engineer stationed above, leaving the pilots free to concentrate on the actual piloting of the airplane.
