GALLAUDET

Major builder of seaplanes from 1913 at Norwich, Connecticut, and of Navy aircraft (Curtiss HS-2, DH-4) at East Greenwich, Rhode Island, from 1917. Particular feature of several designs was propeller revolving around rear fuselage, driven by 1 or 2 engines inside. Final designs were 1918 D-4 bomber seaplane, Chummy ultralight, 1920 5-seat tourer and 1922 PW-4 all-metal fighter. Factory taken over by Consolidated 1923.
