MIKHELSON

N.G. Mikhelson was designer in pre-revolutionary Russia. At former Anatra works, Taganrog, 1921 began designing MK-1 fighter seaplane in partnership with Shishmaryev and Korvin (May 1923), prototype only. Went to GAZ-3 1931 and there, with Morshchikhin, produced U-3, refined and more powerful U-2, and U-4 in which higher performance attained solely by refinement. RV-23 further modified U-2 (August 1937) to attempt height record. Last aircraft, never completed, was MP unconventional high-speed torpedo aircraft with tilting engine.
