Joint-stock company founded by Yu.A. Meller in Moscow 1894. In 1910 bought licence for Farman and subsequently became largest aircraft company in Russia, by 1917 reaching 2,120 workers plus c. 300 staff. Chief engineer F.E. Moska based products on French, usually Farman or Nieuport. After Revolution became GAZ-1, Moscow-Khodinka.
